WHAT MAKES THE GLOBAL CITIZENS?

Nowadays, people become more and more selfish while million of global problems happen everyday such as the warming of the Earth, climate change,etc. Actually, it is very difficult to resolve these problems; however, the global citizens can do it. Who are they? the simple understanding is that the global citizens can live and work in many different countries; they often care and repulse the national problem. So what makes the global citizens? Of course, three special qualities that they own are empathy, respect and knowledge.

Empathy is necessary to make the global citizen. They are not only moved but also sympathetic in front of the unfortunate plight like orphans, the disabled, the children infecting dioxin. They always ask themselves how to save these pitiful destiny. They usually think about others and do what they can. The global citizen go to many places all over the world, so they have to face with a lot of difficulties of meals everyday because of the strange taste of food. Unless they enjoy, their health is worse and worse; therefore, they can not work well and complete his responsibility.

Knowledge is the essential means with the successful global citizen. To solve the worldwide problems, these citizens have to own the general knowledge in many fields, which helps them analyze or dissect the difficulties and give solution quickly. Moreover, they have to learn culture of other countries so that he can be easy to live and work there. As the global citizen, they often update information everyday exactly; thus, they must know how to use English and computer well. If the global citizen is good at English, they can communicate with everyone and approach internet easily. Thank to that, they can catch the situation of the world and confront with the unexpected events.

Our country has been developing, which raises the standard of people’ life; however, nowadays the life becomes more and more difficult because of the context of high inflation, especially students’ life. They have to bear a lot of serious consequences that are limiting the time to study, reducing health and getting trouble with accommodation.

First of all, increasing price means that students do not have much time to study. It is not easy for students living far from hometown to exist in city if their parents’ support is decreased. Beside school fees, they also pay for the other necessary ones such as electricity, water, rent-house, so they have to stand the pressure in finance. What would they do to resolve that? The best way is doing the part-time job. They are ready to do anytime providing that this job helps them increase income. Most students tutor in the evening, even work as waitress until midnight; therefore, they do not have much time to study, which affects their study.

Secondly, keeping good heath is their insolvable problem. Four months ago, with 200,000 VND, they can prepare good meal for themselves all day; nevertheless, they can not afford to do this because of the escalating price now, and most meat disappears in their usual meal. Furthermore, they must cut down meal in many ways. For example, they reduce three meals to two ones per day or bread is replaced by rice all day, which catch stomachache. In addition, instant noodles become their most interesting food everyday. Lacking nutrients causes the asthenia of health; thus, they do not enough strength to confront their hard study.

Finally, students can face pressure in finding and sharing a flat. In the state of price storm, hiring a suitable room is like “owning diamond”. Students must pay from 700,000 VND to 800,000 VND each month not including the fee of electricity and water. Another grave problem is getting trouble with sharing boarding-house. To save money, students have to receive a new roommate, which causes a lot of difficulties in living and learning because more people there are, more complicated they face. For instance, it is not convenient to move or sit, especially study; moreover, stealing money or arguing each other happen certainly. As a result, they can not stand and decide to find a new room; they waste to do that many times, so they lose time and their attention of study.

Increasing price makes the market economy lose balance, and people’s life seems to be upset, especially students. A studious girl who is majoring in accountant at University of Technical Educational HoChiMinh City. Despite of a freshman, she has been supplement her income by working many jobs. She studies and works all day; she tutors in the evening and delivers newspapers in her free time. Now her life becomes more and more difficult when the price increases. This is the story which I read in the newspaper last night, and it is also an example about the difficulty of students in the state of the context of high inflation. Especially, they have problems in finding boarding house, paying school fees and keeping good health.
